NRN card Nepal
An NRN card is a Government of Nepal identity document for Non-Resident Nepalis. It is used to show origin status for services, property, and investment-related processes. It is not a Nepal passport and it does not by itself replace the correct entry visa if you are a foreign citizen.
Who typically applies
- Foreign citizens of Nepali origin (you, a parent, or grandparent held Nepali citizenship)
- Nepali citizens who live abroad and need the card for transactions in Nepal
How people apply
Applications are commonly filed at a Nepali embassy or consulate, or through the Department of Consular Services in Kathmandu, with foreign passport, proof of Nepali origin (citizenship copies of parents/grandparents, birth or relationship evidence), photos, and the prescribed form and fee. Processing times vary by mission.
