Nepal student visa
A Nepal student visa is for foreigners admitted to a recognized school, college, university, or structured research program in Nepal. Language classes alone do not always justify a student visa — immigration looks at the institution’s recommendation and your study plan.
Typical requirements
- Admission or enrollment letter from the Nepali institution
- Recommendation for a student visa from that institution
- Passport, photos, and completed immigration forms
- Proof of funds or sponsorship when requested
- For research: affiliation letters and a brief research outline
Many students first enter as tourists and then change status. That only works if timing, documents, and the institution’s process line up. Start the file early so you are not forced into a last-minute extension.
Lingo and Landscapes also teaches Nepali. If you are coming to study language with us, we can explain whether your stay should remain tourist or needs a different category, then help with the visa request either way.
Visa fees, eligible nationalities, and forms change. Confirm current rules with the Department of Immigration Nepal or a Nepali embassy before you travel. Lingo and Landscapes helps with documentation and lawyer-guided applications; we do not issue visas.
